Cynthia Zhang, Founding Partner of FutureX Capital, Invited to 2022 Hong Kong Fintech Week to Talk about Financing the Companies of Future

On 31 October 2022, FutureX Capital’s Founding Partner, Ms Cynthia Zhang, was invited as guest speaker of the 2022 Hong Kong Fintech Week's Financing the Companies of Tomorrow Panel.

The seventh edition of FinTech Week, organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) and InvestHK, and co-organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), and the Insurance Authority (IA), brought together tens of thousands of industry leaders, policymakers and fintech innovators to discuss some of the biggest opportunities in the fintech industry as well as the challenges faced by the sector. This year’s event, themed “Pushing Boundaries, Reaping Benefits”, features over 250 distinguished speakers, 400 sponsors and exhibitors, and more than 30 international delegations.


During the panel discussion, Cynthia Zhang shared her views on the outlook of global IPO markets, regarding positioning the opportunities and benefits she saw in the public and private markets. To share the new trends for new economy companies in their recent fund raising in turbulent market, Cynthia summarizes and explained the following points: 1. Higher profitability of underlying company and lower valuation, 2. Looking for true innovation not just cliche idea, 3. Lower expectation on tech stock return, 4. Favouring companies that can leverage China tech supply chain.
